GAY MAN'S GUIDE TO WRITING FANTASY FICTION

Over the past few days I worked very hard at coming up with a new feature for my website. It's called the GAY MAN'S GUIDE TO WRITING FANTASY FICTION. It's an illustrated guide to the basics of plotting in three acts with a focus on fantasy novels. There is a great Resources page with lots of useful links for fantasy writers. There is also a free download of the "Plot to Draft" section, which helps visitors to the site to develop an idea of their own, resulting in a working outline.

Take a few minutes and check it out. It's fun and worthwhile. Feel free to link to the new part of my site!

Hey Adrian, I just read through "Gay Man's Guide to Writing Fantasy". Thank you for providing this clear-headed approach. I downloaded it and linked it at pendrifter. You've helped me see the way to resurrect "A Lamentation of Swans." Act 2 is definitely my weak point. Thanks! d:)

Roflol, that was cute and funny.

Did you do the illustrations yourself?

Thank you for your comments, Debra and Gabriele! Glad you enjoyed it.

Debra, as you know, Act II was always my weak point, too. Good luck with A LAMENTATION OF SWANS!

Gabriele, sorry, I didn't do the illustrations myself. Wish I could draw like that! They're from a huge clip art collection, which has just about everything in it, including the kitchen sink (in several varieties).

I plan to leave the new feature up for a long time. Thanks for linking to it, so others can have a few laughs, too. Hopefully it will be of value to other writers. I have benefited from it myself already, as creating it has helped me review the important foundation elements that I tend to forget about when I get caught up in the moment, only to pay for it later when things don't add up. It's good to bear those story pillars in mind!

Best wishes to each of you with your writing,

Adrian
