And sometimes it works better than the one you'd planned (because plots can't always be written in stone).<br />And sometimes you have to stop and start again to try out the voice.<br />I started writing Shadow first as a juvenile historical but after a year of work on it, realized it was far too complicated and political for that age group, so I began again with multiple points of view that complicated the writing of it, but I think it's a better story now. And any young adult who is truly intersted in history could probably still read it and enjoy it.<br /><br />Good luck.
